Better End Mod Compatibility & Updates Guide

Most avoidable problems come from mixing versions. Keep the whole mod stack aligned and test changes before opening a valuable world.

Build a version matrix

Write down four things: Minecraft version, Fabric Loader version, BetterEnd version and dependency versions. If one component targets a different Minecraft release, stop and correct it first.

Update deliberately

Do not replace every mod at once unless necessary. Smaller update batches make it easier to identify which change caused a problem.

Keep backups

Back up the entire world folder before changing world-generation mods. A backup is especially important before moving between major Minecraft versions.

Understand chunk boundaries

Existing chunks keep previously generated terrain. New chunks may use new generation rules, which can create visible transitions after updates.
